Cdr Shyamsingh Deoraoji Rathod was commissioned in the Indian Navy in February 2008. The officer is specialised in Ship Navigation and Aircraft Direction (Long ND). During his career in the Navy, the officer has held various education and related appointment. The officer served as an instructor at Naval Institute of Educational and Training Technology (NIETT), Kochi, the Alma Matter of Naval Education Officers. The officer has also served as Senior Education Officer (SEdO) onboard INS Tir, the First Training Squadron (1TS) of Indian Navy. The officer also had two tenures at IHQ MoD(N), New Delhi, with Directorate of Naval Education (DNE) and Directorate of Naval Training (DNT) respectively.
The officer is a graduate in Computer Technology from Nagpur University. The officer also holds M.Sc. (Nautical Science and Air Direction) from the Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), Kochi. The officer has also undergone Defence Services Technical Staff Course (DSTSC) at MILIT, Pune. The officer has a keen interest in sports and physical activity and is passionate about cycling and running.
He is married to Dr Deeplaxmi Rathod, an Ayurvedic medical practitioner. They are blessed with a son, Rishabh Singh, who is currently school-going.
